We have produced planning and assessment grids for all subjects in the new primary National Curriculum. This particularly helps teachers to effectively build assessment into all of their planned teaching activities for each year group.

We also provide leadership and CPD support to help you introduce our planning and assessment approach to your individual school and provide a wide range of support for the implementation of curriculum change.

The materials have been produced by 20 teachers from the Harrogate and Rural Teaching School Alliance who met throughout 2014 to “unpick” the primary national curriculum to create planning and assessment grids for all subjects.

Teachers regularly tried out the grids with pupils in their schools and refinements and updates were on-going throughout the process.

The National Curriculum Readiness funding was used to release teachers from their classrooms to lead this work across our schools and also helped us to provide CPD events supporting schools in the development of their new curriculum and sharing the assessment materials with 200 teachers from Yorkshire schools. In addition the resources were used to support leaders introducing the new curriculum by facilitating networks across North Yorkshire. Some of our assessment grids have been made available through the TES website and over 650 downloads have been made.
