Alfreton Nursery School, Grange Street, Alfreton, Derbyshire have been developing the following when deplying their SLE:
As an SLE Laura often shares her expertise in Forest School leadership, by going into other schools or having them observing her lessons. She also facilitates work with Derbyshire County Council’s Forest School team to offer training packages for students accessing NVQs and has developed a module with Derby University for B.Ed students on ‘Learning outside the Classroom’

We have also developed an assessment and tracking system to evidence the impact of our Forest Schools sessions. A student Educational Psychologist from Nottingham Trent is currently working with us, using our provision to evidence her dissertation on the impact of Forest Schools as she was so inspired by the provision here, and wants to write an academic paper on its’ value for schools to have hard evidence of this approach, as currently nationally, there is none.
